Brett Ratner to Direct “Conan”(2010) Remake

Reuters reports that director Brett Ratner is in final negotiations with Paramount to direct the famous “Conan the Barbarian” remake. Ratner has been thinking about signing on to direct the 21st century Conan for a couple of weeks now and it’s almost headed towards a green light with Paramount. The film will trace back to the origins of Conan on the battlefield where he was born and it will set the stage for sequels to follow.
They are looking for a release date for the film sometime in 2010 with a budget of about $85 million and an R rating. Brett Ratner is also directing another popular franchise film, “Beverly Hills Cop 4″ starring famous comedian, Eddie Murphy. It also has a release date for on or about the summer of 2010.
Heck, I’ll go see both of these films. I wasn’t a huge fan of Conan the Barbarian but I would definately check it out, and I’ve been waiting for a “Beverly Hills Cop 4″. I’m sure Eddie Murphy has been also with the way his film career has been going lately.
