In Smallville “Abyss” the 9th episode of season 8, Brainiac starts removing all of Chloe’s memories from her mind until the only person she can remember and trust is Davis. Then Clark realizes the only way he can help Cloe is to rebuild the fortress and ask for Jor-El’s help.

It looks like things are starting to pick up again with this show.
