There Just Might Be A New ‘Wonder Woman’ Movie Yet

wonder woman image

Recent reports have come out that after the new animated “Wonder Woman” dvd came out, production for a live action “Wonder Woman” movie has been picking up more interest. So much in fact that the WB and Silver Pictures have been looking for new writers and are looking for pitches for a plot. We’ve also heard that the WB and Silver Pictures are now also looking for a director for the film.

You know what they say? If it quacks like a duck. It probably is a duck, and the studios for this “Wonder Woman” film seem to be quacking away quite swiftly as they are trying to get all the elements of this film together and into production. I personally hope they do get this one made because I used to watch the old tv show starring Linda Carter when I was like 4 years old. I’d like to see what all they can do with it now with all the modern technology and all.

Even though the first release of the new “Star Trek” remake has yet to see the light of day, there is already a sequel in place to follow it’s tracks. According to Variety, the studio has already made plans to move forward with the second installment. They have hired the same writers , Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof. J.J. Abrams produced and directed this latest installment that’s due out on May 8,2009. He has already agreed to produce the second one,but hasn’t decided if he’ll direct it yet. The story for the second one has yet to see a script ,but they are planning to deliver it by Christmas 2009. Most likely it would have a summer 2011 release date. They’ve said that they’re so excited about the first one that they just had to agree to proceed with the second one. Read the rest of this entry »

Original Actors Will Appear In The New Ghostbusters 3 Remake

ghostbusters 3 image

Harold Ramis who wrote the first two “Ghostbusters” films recently told MTV that co-writers Bill Murray who played Dr. Peter Venkman and Dan Aykroyd who played Dr. Raymond Stantz in the original two Ghostbusters films, will definitely be making an appearance in the new third installment of the popular 1980′s franchise. Don’t worry though, there will be new young “Ghostbusters” ,but no names have been mentioned as to who will play them. Bill and Dan will be playing mentors to them. which I think will be an interesting plot . Jud Apatow is signed on to be the producer of the film.

There have been rumors circulating that comedians Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen could join the cast, but for now it’s just all speculation as far as they are concerned. This franchise was huge back in the day, and I think a remake could definitely draw huge box office numbers. It went on to spawn off a cartoon of the characters in the mid 1980′s which I watched religiously as an youngin.

‘Karate Kid’ Remake To Be Named ‘Kung Fu Kid’ Instead

jackie chan image

According to an interview that Jackie Chan gave to 3news, “The Karate Kid” movie remake he’s been working on with Will Smith’s son, Jaden is going to have it’s named changed to the “Kung Fu Kid” or so they’re contemplating anyways. I’m not sure how much it will effect the ticket sales. I personally don’t care if they change the name, but that’s only because I know it’s a remake of the “Karate Kid”. However, the millions of other people who might not know, may hurt the film’s box office performance.

A name just isn’t a name in Hollywood. It’s hard to build up one, and when you do, you hold onto it. It’s how you’re recognized, and it’s definitely how this movie would be recognized. So I’m not sure that this would be the best decision. Read the rest of this entry »

Columbia Pictures Wants Tobey Maguire To Drive

tobey maguire image

Variety has reported that Columbia Pictures is acquiring screen rights to “The Limit”, and they want Tobey Maguire to star in it. “The limit” is a race car story based on Michael Cannell’s upcoming novel.Tony Peckham will be writing it. If Columbia is able to acquire the rights to it, they want Tobey Maguire to play the character of Phil Hill who raced against Wolfgang von Trips in the 1961 Drivers Championships. The two characters were also good friends and Ferrari Teammates.

Veteran Jenno Topping will produce the film along with Maguire, Cathy Schulman, and Scarlett Lacey who is with Mandalay Pictures.

So it looks like Peter Parker will get to jump into a Ferrari for his next gig.

Rapper T.I. image

Wow, couldn’t they have just made it an even year ? What’s the extra day for ? Anyways on March 27,2009, hip hop rapper T.I. was sentenced to a year and one proverbial day in jail for federal weapons charges he incurred when arrested back in October of 2007 for trying to buy unregistered machine guns and silencers. The arrest happened a few blocks from where he was to headline at the BET Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta just an hour later. He will have between 30 -60 days to report to prison. He has already completed 1,000 hours of community service, and will need to complete 470 more hours.

The one year and a day pails in comparison to the sentence he could have gotten which is about a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each count. Read the rest of this entry »

‘The Haunting in Connecticut’ (2009) Movie Review

the haunting in connecticut movie poster image

“The Haunting in Connecticut” is based on the supposedly true story of the Snedeker family who moved into a ghost infested house in Southington, Connecticut back in the 1970′s. I’m not really sure how true the story is, but the “movie” goes like this. The Campbell family move into the home when their son, Matt (Kyle Gallner) is dying of cancer so they don’t have to drive so far for him to get his treatments. Once they move into the house, strange things start to go wrong with Matt. He starts acting weird around his family. Almost as if he’s possessed by something or someone.

It turns out that there was a boy named Jacob who lived in the house ages before they moved in,and it was a funeral parlor. Jacob was used as the subject or medium for ghostly seances. Read the rest of this entry »
