The Plot / Synopsis : “Public Enemies” is a story about super smart outlaw, John Dillinger (Johnny Depp) and his gang. Johnny Depp returns to the big screen as super outlaw, John Dillinger. Him and his gang are notorious for their bank robberies which made them the number one target of J Edgar Hoover’s FBI, and the top agent named Melvin Purvis. Dillinger was a great bank robber. No one could stop him and his gang. No jail could hold him. He was famous for his great jail breaks,and the public endeared him because they had no regard for the banks that had sent the country into Depression.

J Edgar Hoover used Dillinger’s exploits to elevate the Bureau of Investigation into what would later become the FBI. Then he made Dillinger America’s first Public Enemy Number One, and sent Melvin Purvis after him. Dillinger and his gang would outwitt and outgun Purvis’ men in numerous gun chases.The only way they were able to finally close in on Dillinger was to recruit a crew of Western ex-lawmen which included epic betrayals from the infamous “Lady in Red” to the Chicago crime boss, Frank Nitti.
