‘Taken’ Sequel Confirmed. What Could it Possibly Be About ?

The LA Times, and a couple of blogs have confirmed this story. That there will indeed be a sequel to the well deserved, high grossing, action film, “Taken” which involved the kidnapping of an ex government spy’s daughter while in Paris. Then rescued by her father (Liam Neeson). But would could a sequel to this film possibly be about ? I know I totally enjoyed the movie, but I’m not totally convinced that a sequel to it could possibly measure up.

The only plot possibilities I could think of is maybe one of the guys he beat up over in Paris could try to come to America to enact revenge, or maybe the crooked cop that he thought was helping him over in Paris might try and do something. Another possibility is that maybe that famous singer chick in the movie invites his daughter somewhere, and they get kidnapped in a Deja Vu type of scenario.

One things for sure, is that there is going to be a sequel. The reason why, is not because there’s more room for a good plot or anything of that nature. It’s money.money, money ! This damn film has grossed about $192 million worldwide so far, and since it is produced by French action director Luc Besson, it probably didn’t cost jack to make. There you go. That’s the real reason ladies and gentlemen. always know that money speaks much louder than reason in Hollywood. You know what, though? I would still go see the sequel no matter how lousy it may or may not be just purely out of curiosity simply because I enjoyed the first one so much. Also no release date or any details for the sequel or yet known. We just know it’s happening.

First, if you’re going to write, you really should learn proper spelling and grammar. Wow, the errors in this are practically limitless! Second, the “sequel” doesn’t have to pick up where the last one left off. Didn’t you ever see the Die Hard series or the Dirty Harry series? The sequel to Taken need only be a sequel in the sense that it’s the second in the series. What’s being continued is not the story from the first one; it’s the fantastic character of Brian Mills – too good a character to leave to one film, just as the characters of John McLane and Harry Callahan were too good to leave to just one film.
