‘Journey to The Center of The Earth’ Sequel in The Works

Yep,yep, yep. That’s right Walden Media and ContraFilm have decided to team up and greenlight a sequel for the summer of 2008 flick, “Journey to The Center of The Earth” which starred Brendan Fraser in the lead role as Professor Trevor Anderson . This time however, it will be titled, “Mysterious Travels: The Lost Map of Treasure Island”. So it looks like they’ll be taking another fun, dangerous adventure. I can really see this happening. I enjoyed the “Journey to the Center of The Earth” film. It had a lot of action and adventure in it, and it seems like Brendan is following his “Mummy” movie footsteps with this franchise by taking on wild and crazy adventures across the world to retrieve some type of ancient artifact that’s surrounded by danger.
I really like the Brendan films especially the latest “Mummy” installment. They really did a lot with those films, and they’re very entertaining. Yeah, I definitely wouldn’t mind seeing another “Mummy” film also, but I think that’s highly unlikely at this point because I’ll be damned if they raise another freakin mummy. However, I have seen crazier things with the “Friday the 13th series”. I’ve lost count of how many times they’ve raised Jason. Oh, well I digress. But, yeah you can all look forward to another “Journey to The Center of The Earth ” installment. The director,Eric Brevig hasn’t signed back on yet, but has started developing a script which means he will most likely eventually sign back on to direct. Also Brendan hasn’t yet signed on for the sequel, but I can’t imagine them doing it without him.
