It’s official according to iconvsicon.com and their sources, filming for the new “Nightmare on Elm Street” remake will begin in April of 2009, and it looks like it will be released on April 16, 2010. Robert Englund will not be returning for the remake so it’s up in the air as to who will be playing Freddy. Of course, it’s not like it really matters. You can’t tell who’s under the mask while watching the film, anyways. In this remake, they are going to stick with the high school setting, and try to delve deeper into the psychology of the nightmares and Freddy Krueger.

They will be shooting the film in Chicago,IL, and Samuel Bayer will be the director.Wesley Strick is the screenwriter. No other details are available at the moment except that Freddy is indeed, again coming for you. We’ll of course keep you posted on any further developments.
