This just in. A reader over at aintitcool.com posted that he saw Tom Cruise on a popular tv program in Japan . They asked him about the “Mission Impossible” franchise, and he stated that he is currently working on a story for the fourth installment of the franchise right now. He also stated that he’s trying to think of a way to stage a big action sequence in downtown Tokyo.

I personally believe the story because I’ve read on some more official sources such as Variety, and msnbc.com that he started going into negotiations about it back in April 2008. So it would make since that he’s working on it now. I have to say that I really enjoyed all the mission impossible movies,and would love to see another one. Also the original “Mission Impossible” brought in $467 million worldwide at the box office. Part 2 brought in a whopping $545 million at the global box office. Then the latest third installment dipped just a wee bit at a still impressive $395 million. So the concept,financially is very viable. Do it, Tom ! Do it !
