“I Love You, Man” is about a guy named Peter Klaven (Paul Rudd), a real estate agent who’s always been great about having relationships with women ,but realizes he’s neglected to have any good guy friends when he can’t think of anyone who could be a best man at his wedding. So he ventures out to find a good guy friend by first hanging out with one of his fiancee’s friend’s husband which turns out to be a just a poker playing jerk. Then his funny, gay brother hooks him up to hang out with a weird, high pitched, talking guy from the gym who eventually gets them involved in a big brawl at a soccer game because he doesn’t know when to shut up.

Then his mother hooks him up with a guy named, Doug (Thomas Lennon) who appears to be pretty cool, and they have a lot in common. However, to end off the evening, Doug makes a deep passionate pass at him because he thinks Peter is gay. Eventually after appearing to have given up on his quest to find a good guy friend, Peter runs into a guy named Sydney Fife (Jason Segel) at one of his open houses that’s set up to sell Lou Feriggno’s house. They hit it off and exchange business cards. Peter calls him up ,and they start hanging out. They get really close, and he eventually asks Sydney to be his best man at the wedding. But they eventually get to be so close that it starts to effect his relationship with his fiancee, Zooey (Rashida Jones). Then Sydney makes what appears to be a huge mistake which Peter thinks might ruin his career, and relationship so he ends his friendship with Sydney.

Peter eventually realizes that the mistake he thought Sydney made actually helps out his real estate career by leaps and bounds. Now, Zooey noticing that he’s looking kind of down on his wedding day, calls Sydney up,and reinvites him to the wedding to be his best man,and eventually surprises Peter just before they take their vows. Peter and Sydney make up,and everything’s all great and dandy again.

My Take : Folks, the movie was freakin hilarious. I thought the build up and storyline played out excellent. It had me laughing all the way though. They even made Lou Ferrigno funny in this film. Also as intense as Jamie Pressly is, she was even able to pull off some funny lines in the movie. I thought the chemistry with the whole cast of this film was just excellent. It made for an extremely funny romantic / comedy, and they kept the romance to a minimum which I think made this movie work out really well. It had some romance but not so much that you’re like, alright already.I also thought the premise of the film provided a unique element of him needing to find a guy friend, which made it unique in contrast to most romantic / comedies. So, yeah if you wanna laugh your ass off go see this movie.
