On Tuesday April 7,2009,the hip hop / r&b star Chris Brown pleaded not guilty to felony charges of making criminal threats and felony assults in the altercation that happened between him, and his girlfriend, pop singer, Rihanna on February 8,2009. The charges were filed on him last month. The two felonies that he was charged with are : assault likely to cause bodily injury and making criminal threats.
Rihanna’s lawyer, Donald Etra said that Rihanna wanted a plea deal for Chris before any hearings or a trial came about. She said that she would testify if necessary,though. If Chris is convicted, he could face up to a possible five years in prison.
It doesn’t look like he’s getting out of a trial for this one even after all the kissing up to Rihanna he’s done since the incident . He better hope his lawyers and money can get him off.
