Well, it looks like Warner Bros. has made it’s decision in who will play Johnny Quest in their new well, “Johnny Quest” movie. It’s none other than Zac Efron . Two things surprise me with this news . The first being that Warner Bros might not be sticking with the “Johnny Quest” name which to me seems like the whole point. Ya know ? The whole “cash in on the name” thing. Anyways this is the second franchise to do this. First with the “Karate Kid” changing to the “Kung Fu Kid”, and now this.

Apparently the supposed Warner Bros. thinking is that, to many people will confuse it with the popular cartoon version, and not go see it. I don’t really know about that,but what I do think is that if they change the name, they’ve got a definite uphill battle to climb in terms of marketing as it will have no name recognition. Of course they can market Zac Efron all over the place, but wouldn’t it be even better if they could market “Johnny Quest” and Zac Efron together ? I think so.

Then the other thing. I thought Zac was trying to go for more serious roles by getting away from “Footloose”. I personally think “FootLoose” would have served him much better . He was made for that role in my opinion. Oh, well. Also joining the cast of “Johnny Quest” alongside Efron is Dwayne Johnson also known better as “The Rock” . He will play the brawny version of pilot and man-of-action, Race Bannon. Dang, Dwayne Johnson sure is becoming quite versatile as an actor or just needs the money. Either way he’s sarting to show up in a plethora of films here lately.
