R&B superstar, Beyonce Knowles and NBC Heroes Co-star Ali Larter drove their new catfight thriller movie,”Obsessed” to $28.5 million in box office ticket sales this weekend knocking last week’s winner “17 Again” down to the number 2 spot with $11.7 million in ticket sales. Obsessed easily made an $8.5 million dollar profit by exceeding its $20 million dollar budget this weekend.

Screen Gems who produced the film is the low-budget, but very profitable division of Sony Corp’s Columbia Pictures. They say that Obsessed is the second best ranking picture for their label right behind, “The Exorcism of Emily Rose” which debuted in 2005.

The plot for “Obsessed” is sort of similar to 1987′s “Fatal Attraction” in some ways,but not all. It involves Beyonce’s character having to deal with a woman who has a delusional obsessed attraction for her husband,and will do anything to keep her fantasy alive. Beyonce really kicked Ali Carter’s character,Lisa’s butt in this film. It had a lot of drama.
