Leighton Meester, the girl who plays Blaire Waldorf on the CW’s hit tv show, “Gossip Girl” is apparently a professional singer, and has signed a record deal with Universal Republic through Time-Act Music for her first debut album set to release during the fall of 2009. My sources tell me that the music she’s recording has an “electro pop edge sound to it. She began recording in March of 2009 with top producers and artists like : Polow Da Don (Usher, Fergie), Harvey Mason, Jr. (Justin Timberlake, Pink) and Spencer Nezey (Jupiter Rising).

That’s wild to me. I never would have guest it. I’m pretty curious to see what here music sounds like. The artists and producers that she is working with are mint. I gotta hear her stuff when it comes out. In addition to her new music career she’s also going to be in an upcoming 20th Century Fox comedy movie entitled, “Date Night.” She has also performed a duet with Tony Bennett during a 2008 return guest appearance on HBO’s “Entourage.”
