The CW aired another new episode of “Supernatural” tonight (April 2,2009) entitled “The Monster at the End of This Book”. I must say it was one of the season’s strongest episodes. I was totally intrigued right from the start. Julie Siege, the writer for this episode is an absolute genius. Basically the show pitched the idea of, what if there’s a guy somewhere that Dean and Sam don’t know about who’s writing everything they’ve been through from beginning to end,and has actually published a whole series of books on it entitled , (you’ll never guess this one) “Supernatural”.

Dean and Sam soon discover this fact when they come across one of the books in a comic book store. Read the rest of this entry »

So Cw’s New 90210 returned to the airways Tuesday night (March 31,2009) with “Life’s a Drag” episode after about a month’s hiatus,and it was no let down. The one thing that really sparked my interest,though, is this wack trip that Silver is on. I swear if I didn’t know any better, I’d think she’s on speed. She did things like hop into his bed in the middle of the night rambling like a mad woman, tried to have sex with Dixon like everywhere, and started talking about buying a studio or something because she’s really all hyped up about a school film project. But,then she does exactly what I thought she would do. She filmed them having sex for her video project, and looked surprised when Dixon was upset. I knew she was kind of nutty but this episode ices the cake in a big way because they capped it off with surprise for me. Man, I just knew Silver was a ticking time bomb just looking to explode. The President of Sony Worldwide Distribution, Rory Bruer announced at their ShoWest 2009 presentation a couple of days ago that they are indeed working on a third installment of the popular “Men In Black” film starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. There isn’t a lot of details about it at the moment. There’s currently no plot,script,or actor information, but I’m sure that they are looking to get Will Smith back on board . In fact I’m guessing he’s a big factor in why they decided to ressurrect the franchise that’s been sleeping for about 7 or 8 years, now. Will Smith Has had a lot of success at the box office,and I’m sure they’re wanting to jump back on board that gravy train once again,and I don’t blame them. Read the rest of this entry »

If you answered, “I Do !” to the question above then you may want to know that CBS is holding live open casting calls in various cities for their famous hit summer reality show, “Big Brother 11″ in which we here at ontheflix.com will be providing full coverage of. The show is heading into it’s 11th season after having two successful back to back seasons last year do to the writer’s strike. They had one in the fall and summer of 2008. Now, this year they got back to just the summer season.

Last year’s fall champ was Adam Jasinski while Dan Gheesling ran away with the summer title. They were two of the most dramatic seasons ever,and I hope whoever applies for the show this year is no let down. Read the rest of this entry »

And then there were eight. Tonight on the 26th Episode of season 8 “American Idol”, contestant Meagan Joy was finally voted off the show. It came down to Anoop Desai and Meagan in the bottom two. When the judges were asked or I should just say, when Simon was asked if he would like to save her. He said no way . He told her just like when she said she didn’t care, neither does he. She took it in stride though. She was like , “Ok that’s fine”.

I think she kind of new she wasn’t all that great. It would seem like you’d almost have to know it when you’re that bad. She was a total karaoke act everytime I watched her. I was surprised to see that she wasn’t voted off last week. How she even got into the finals, is beyond me. Well, thank God for fate. It works everytime. Now they are down to just eight. Those final eight remaining are : Adam Lambert,Allison Iraheta,Anoop Desai,Danny Gokey,Kris Allen,Lil Rounds, Matt Giraud,Scott MacIntyre. I predict that Scott MacIntyre will probably be the next to go,or he should be unless that votefortheworst.com site keeps him in. So to conclude, tommorrow that Meagan Joy picture you’re looking at will have the big blue X across it tommorrow on the American Idol website,and I couldn’t be more elated,lol !

Lady Gaga has now become the first artist in the past ten years to have two number 1 songs on the Billboard Charts with their first two singles. Her 2nd single , “Poker Face” just recently hit # 1,and her first single, “Just Dance” hit # 1 for a pretty good while. Christina Aguilera was the last artist two have her first two singles hit the top of the charts back in 1999 and 2000 with “Genie in a Bottle” and “What a Girl Wants”. Mariah Carey in 1990 and Tiffany in 1987 also are on that elite list. I actually remember that I couldn’t stand that “What a Girl Wants” song by Christina back in the day, but she can sing. I’ll admit that Lady Gaga has grown on me. Although, I’m not fond of “Poker Face” at all, I do like “Just Dance” and her other song “Eh,Eh (All That I can Say). They’re quite catchy. The ever so sexy lead singer of the popular girl group, Pussycat Dolls recently told Billboard that she is still working on her solo album that will be entitled, “Her Name is Nicole”. Apparently she’s been working on it for three straight years now,and has released a couple of singles entitled : “Whatever U Like,” “Baby Love,” “Puakenikeni” and “Supervillian” , but still has yet to release the full blown album. She says that the actual album is still in the works. She plans on getting back into the studio this summer after she gets finished with the whole Pussycat Dolls and Britney Spears Tour .

I can see how she would probably have to work on an album that long,though because she does still have her obligations to the Pussycat Dolls. Read the rest of this entry »

Dying Breed, is a movie of substance that explores themes of preservation of nature and of life. The cinematography throughout the film is stellar as Tasmania is shown in several overhead shots and medium pans. The very dense forests and winding rivers act like one of the character’s in the film and add mystique and isolation to the telling of the, oftentimes horrific tale. Following two couples who venture into the depths of the Tasmanian country in search of a long lost sister, what starts off as a holiday fairly quickly turns into a nightmare for this small group of friends. A symbolic transition during a ferry ride involving storm clouds and overly eerie music highlights the change from ordinary life to a new landscape full of cannibal families and dog killing characters. The use of unpleasant sounding music during the film stays in tone as these four friends look for clues from their long lost friend. Read the rest of this entry »
