Allison Iraheta Gets ‘American Idol’ Walking Papers

On “American Idol” final four elimination night (5-6-09),the show started with a performance from the contestants. Then we got to see Paula Abdul perform for the first time, live on “American Idol”,and for the first time in a very long time, period. I must say it was pretty good, and the song wasn’t half bad. I absolutely loved the choreography. She performed her new single entitled, “I’m Just (Here for the Music)â€off her new album to be released this fall.
Kris Allen was the first one to find out that he was safe this week. After that we saw performances from “No Doubt” and “Daughtry”. No Doubt performed one of their old hits, “I’m Just A Girl”, and Daughtry performed their new single,“No Surprise†from their second album to be released in July 2009. Next, Adam got his results that he was safe for the week. It then came down to Danny Gokey and Allison Iraheta. And of course, Danny was announced safe for the week which gave Allison Iraheta her “American Idol” walking papers.
So now it’s all guys in the finals for another year. I was personally surprised to see Allison go this week because she did have great performance. I thought it was slightly better than Danny’s. But oh well. I’m sure she’ll get a record deal for finishing top 4 in American Idol, and for having that very powerful voice at just 17 years of age.
