Paramount Pictures has quickly cast the recent “Fast and Furious 4″ star, Vin Diesel in their new, fast, car action movie entitled, “Wheelman”. It’s based on a video game by Ubisoft which launched last month. Vin Diesel is also the main character of the game and it’s producer. The film is set to be directed by John Singleton who also directed “2 Fast 2 Furious”.

Vin Diesel’s character will be an expert car driver who comes out of retirement in order to protect a woman that he knew in the past. Di Bonaventura who produced, “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” ,and “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” will also be producing “Wheelman”. Di Bonaventura is also producing Angelina Jolie’s latest flick , “Salt”.

Paramount first got involved, and set this movie deal up with the video game producer about three years ago in 2006 which apparently is one of the biggest deals between a movie studio and a video game publisher. I think Vin Diesel is awesome in these race car action movies so I totally look forward to checking this one out. I also checked out the video game trailer,and if it’s anything like what the movie will be, it’ll totally rock.
