‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ Movie Remake is on the Horizon
This just in. The original director of the “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” franchise is currently working with Roy Lee and Doug Davision of Vertigo Entertainment to create a remake movie of the popular tv show that graced the WB and UPN tv networks from 1997-2003. Right,now they have not included the popular creator,Joss Whedon in on it yet. They are not ruling out his involvement. They just haven’t included him in on it yet. I hope they do,though. I can’t imagine a “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” movie without Joss as the producer.
Apparently Fran Rubel Kuzui of Kuzui Enterprises held on to the “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” rights since the beginning when she discovered the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” script from the then unknown Joss Whedon in 1992. She developed the script,and her husband Kaz Kuzui put together the financing for the 1992 “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” Movie which starred Luke Perry and Kristy Swanson. They then later teamed up with Gail Berman who was the president of Sandollar television at the time,and brought back Joss Whedon to create the extremely popular Television series.
They are stating that this new “Buffy” movie would have no connection with the tv show version or it’s stars. They want to create a new incarnation of “Buffy”,and not trample over the existing tv series version. They want to hold true to the storyline. That to each generation a slayer is born to protect it. They want to make a more darker ,event sized version with franchise potential.
Right now, they are just in the beginning phase of sitting down with writers and getting takes and ideas. Then, they will later look for a home for the project.
I personally am not to crazy about not using the tv version actors for the movie as they were so very excellent,but I do understand what they are trying to do with this new version. I guess we’ll just have to get used to the new “Buffy” crew they pick out. I knew with the success of the “Twilight Saga” series which is in some ways very similar to the “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” script, that it was just a matter of time that the old “Buffy” folks would try and get in on the bandwagon with their existing fanbase.

Maybe the remake will be okay if it’s played by the Buffy on the TV show with Sarah whats the point if it’s neither her or the original Buffy. Didn’t the orginal Buffy die after the movie? Isn’t that why she wasn’t in the series? That would be a good reason. I mean Buffy int he Tv show fell in Love with two Vampires. Her last one Spike was the best. they should maybe a Buff movie about the TV series about her finding out her boyfriend vampire Spike is alive and disses her imortal human boyfriend in paris and goes back with her lost Vampire love. It seems I saw Sarah who plays Buffy 3 years ago on tv talking about the new Buffy movie so I thought she was going to be in it. Please will anyone tell me who’s starring as Buffy in this new movie.
