Fox Says ‘American Idol’ Voting Was Fair

There are reports out stating that AT&T who are one of the biggest sponsors of “American Idol” may have swayed the vote in Kris Allen’s favor last week by providing phones for free text messaging services and lessons in casting blocks of votes at parties organized by fans of Kris Allen. AT&T provided the phones at two parties in Arkansas after the final performance of “American Idol” last week.

Fox says that it isn’t possible even with that news, that Adam Lambert would have won. They made the following statement, “Fox and the producers of ‘American Idol’ are absolutely certain that the results of this competition are fair, accurate and verified. Kris Allen is, without a doubt, the American Idol. We have an independent third-party monitoring procedure in place to insure the integrity of the voting process. In no way did any individuals unfairly influence the outcome of the competition.”

Ryan Seacrest stated that more than 100 million votes were cast during the finale and Allen had reportedly won by a large margin. So I’m thinking that even the maximum number of votes made by the phones wouldn’t have made a big enough difference since Kris won by such a large margin.

If the voting was fair how did you eliminate the unfair votes from all the California cell phone numbers used in Arkansas? How about the family that voted 486,000 times, was that fair?
