According to Variety, Tom Cruiz and Cameron Diaz are in advanced negotiations to close their deals to star in a new 20th Century Fox action, comedy called, “Wichita” slated to have a summer of 2010 release date. The brief plot from reports, is that Tom Cruise will play a secret agent who pops in and out the life of a single woman which will be played by Cameron Diaz. Both Tom and Cameron have approved the script,and are now just waiting to get deals or their money right.

The script has apparently been through many alterations,but the most recent draft was done by Scott Frank. Mangold is fine tuning the script with Laeta Kalogridis who worked on “Shutter Island”. The movie will be produced by Todd Garner, Kathy Conrad, Steve Pink and Joe Roth. This will be the first time the two have worked together since their 2001 “Vanilla Sky” film.
