When MTV news caught up to Ian Somerhalder, the star of CW’s new anticipated show “Vampire Diaries”, they asked him if he thought without the success of the “Twilight” film, would there be a “Vampire Diaries” tv show. He stated that quite possibly there probably wouldn’t be so he’s not complaining. He also says that while he hasn’t seen “Twilight” yet, it’s very good that they’re around.

Ian Somerhalder will playing the character of Damon on the show who is the evil half of two brothers. The other half being Stefan played by Paul Wesley. According to the recent promos of the show that have been released, the two will be battling it out intensely over a girl named Elena played by Nina Dobrey.And I must say that it does look pretty damn good. So yay, “Twilight”,yay “Vampire Diaries”, and yay everybody else who made it happen.

Even though the “Vampire Diaries” books were written before “Twilight”. “Twilight” made it to the big screen first, so it’s getting most of the credit, looks like.
