Tom Cruise, In For ‘Mission Impossible’ 4 Movie

According to reports, Tom Cruise and director JJ Abrams have agreed to co-produce a fourth installment of Mission Impossible for Paramount Studios. It’s set to have a potential 2011 release date. JJ Abrams directed the third “Mission Impossible” film which grossed $395 million worldwide in 2006.
Apparently, though, “Mission Impossible” 3 was a disappointment compared to the previous two installments. “Mission Impossible” 1 grossed $452 million and “Mission Impossible” 2 grossed $545 million. There had been rumors that Tom Cruise should reboot the franchise with a younger star where he is like a mentor or something, but that was quickly shot down.
As of right now, no writers have been hired for “Mission Impossible” 4. Tom Cruise and JJ Abrams are currently committed to other projects so there is no information as of yet as to when filming will start. We’ll keep you updated, though.
