Michael Jackson’s Memorial Was The Most Touching Event

The 90 minute Michael Jackson memorial that took place yesterday July 7,2009 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles was possibly one of the most moving and touching events I’ve ever witnessed while watching it live via an internet feed.

There was reportedly a lot of drama leading up to the event and during as well. What was so unique about this event, is that we got to learn things about Michael Jackson that we would not have known otherwise.

They started it off with a family message. All the Jackson Brothers wore yellow ties, and Lionel Richie who is also a friend of the family wore a yellow flower on his lapel.

The memorial had a lot of religious songs which didn’t surprise a close friend of Michael, saying that Michael was deeply spiritual. The source stated, “He was DEEPLY spiritual. And he expressed it often and at length to those close to him. Especially during the creation of his (London) show. (Jackson’s spiritualism) would have been very evident when people saw it.”

Magic Johnson talked about eating Kentucky Fried Chicken with him when he worked with him on his music video “Remember The Time” back in 1992. Magic said he was surprised to see that Michael ate Kentucky Fried Chicken. Brooke Shields made a very touching speech, and told about when her and Michael would always laugh and have fun together when they hung out.

The Rev. Al Sharpton made a very strong speech, saying that Michael wasn’t strange. He just had a lot of strange things he had to deal with which I found to be very true after thinking about it.

Usher,Mariah Carey, and Jermain Jackson sung very touching songs. Smokey Robinson made a very funny and touching speech about when Michael was a kid, singing one of the songs Smokey wrote.

Last but definitely not least, Michael’s young daughter Paris Jackson spoke, saying that Michael was the best father in the world to her,and then burst into tears with the whole Jackson family surrounding her. She almost made me want to cry,and it’s hard for me to cry. It was just a really touching event. Michael will truly be missed.
