Access Hollywood reports that Paula Abdul is very hurt and upset about what’s going on with “American Idol” negotiations right now. Her manager David Sonenberg claimed that she might not return to the show, in a Los Angeles Times interview.
He said, “She’s not a happy camper as a result of what’s going on. She’s hurt. She’s angry.†. He also said that he hasn’t yet received a new contract proposal for Paula. He stated , “I find it under these circumstances particularly unusual; I think unnecessarily hurtful.I find it kind of unconscionable and certainly rude and disrespectful that they haven’t stepped up and said what they want to do.â€
As a result of these stalled negotiations, David said that she’s unlikely to return to the show. He made the following statement, “Very sadly, it does not appear that she’s going to be back on ‘Idol.’â€
It’s reported that Paula also wrote comments about this situation on her “Twitter” page on Saturday July 18,2009. She said, â€I’m actually moved 2 tears upon reading the enormous amount of tweets showing me your kindness, love, & undying support. God bless all of you!,†she Tweeted. “If it weren’t for you, this specific time and situation would feel a whole lot worse!â€
It doesn’t appear to be a coincidence that this news came not to long after Ryan Seacrest just sealed a deal with “American Idol” for $45 million over 3 years which makes him the highest paid reality host on TV. Simon Cowell is also in negotiations to renew his contract. While Randy Jackson is set to go through 2011.
That does sound odd that they would treat Paula like that especially when she’s been with the show since the beginning. They better step it up, if they want to keep her. Who knows ? Maybe they have a huge deal in store for her. They better, or else she’s out.
