According to recent reports,former ” The O.C.” actress Mischa Barton was hospitalized under California’s psychiatric involuntary hold law a couple of hours before she was supposed to fly out to New York for the premier of her new movie “Homecoming.”

It’s reported that her close friends had to call the police because they feared that she might kill herself because she was in the middle of a three day cocaine binge.

On Wednesday July 15,2009, the police were called to Mischa’s home out in L.A. at around 3pm for a “unrevealed medical problem.”

Mischa’s publicist said that she was safely transferred to the hospital for medical treatment. She remains hospitalized as recommended by her doctor.

Mischa is also supposed to star in Ashton Kutcher’s new CW show “Beautiful Life”,but that’s starting to look questionable now.
