Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) won’t quite be the same competent individual that fans of the show have gotten use to seeing,before getting injured,and sent into a comma which put him in a dream state where he was married to Brennan (Emily Deschanel).

David Boreanaz recently stated on the set of “Bones”, “It’s an interesting thing that’s going to happen.What I really want to maintain with the arc with him … is that he does have a remembrance of certain things, but he’s not as adept at other things as he thought he was.”

In the 5th season premiere, Seeley doesn’t remember that he tends to wear brightly colored socks with his FBI dark suit. Boreanaz stated that there will be some more serious things he doesn’t remember, “Whether it’s knowing how to interrogate someone, and he doesn’t do a certain thing and Brennan is looking at me going, ‘This is what you usually do,’ and I’m just a tad slow on that.Those are the little nuances they kind of discover.”

Stephen Nathan, the executive producer said that the dream sequence from last season’s finale won’t be dismissed. He stated, “I think it’s a matter of rediscovering Booth, and in that process rediscovering Brennan.That’s why that event, while it might not have been technically real, was very, very real to them as characters.They see each other differently.”

Boreanaz also stated, “It makes me want to reinvest my time and energy into that relationship. Because I don’t remember certain things, now we’re back to ground zero.”

“Bones” season 5 premieres Thursday September 17,2009 at 7pm central on Fox.
