20th Century Fox has released the first official 2009 theatrical movie trailer (below) for James Cameron’s “Avatar” movie today. It stars : Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Peter Mensah, Laz Alonso, Wes Studi, Stephen Lang, Matt Gerald.

The trailer looks awesome. It starts off showing a man opening his eyes. Then it cuts to space ships. Next, it shows the ex-marine rolling around in a wheelchair. He looks around,and he sees the alien body. He apparently likes what he sees.

The next thing it shows,is him being put in a chamber,and they transfer his mind into the alien body. He wakes up,and says, “This is great.” Then it shows various action scenes of him in a jungle like environment on an alien planet,with various clips of him fighting,flying on winged creatures,and concludes with him kissing a female alien.

He finds himself torn between two worlds, in a desperate fight for his own survival and that of the indigenous people after being thrust into hostilities on an alien planet filled with exotic life forms.

This movie is more than ten years in the making,and marks James Cameron’s return to feature directing since directing “Titanic” in 1997, which was the highest grossing film of all time.

James Cameron’s “Avatar” hits theaters December 18,2009 in 3D.
