EW gave an interview to “Twilight” and “New Moon” movie star, Robert Pattinson about 9 months ago. They sat down and talked with him about “Twilight”. He said he wasn’t familiar with the film at all, when he first started reading for the part.
He said he was given the script about 5 months before the casting, but never got around to it. He then finally read the whole series, the weekend after he did the audition. He said he kind of read the script before the audition, and thought he wasn’t going get it,so he didn’t feel there was much point to studying it intensely.
He said he read the first 40 pages, and thought there was zero chance that he would get the part. However, he said when he went in, Kristen sort of shocked a performance out of him that he hadn’t thought of at all.
In conclusion, he said he thought he wouldn’t get the part because of how perfect it described Edward Cullen’s character. He felt that there was no way he matched that description.
