Episode 1,season 5 of CW’s “Supernatural” aired tonight. It was entitled, “Sympathy for the Devil.” Overall it was an appropriate beginning to the season. It picked up right were it left off. Dean and Sam were standing right there at the broken seal as it started to open up.
Then all of a sudden, they were on a airplane, all dazed and confused. The next thing, the airplane was headed south as the light from the broken seal appeared to hit the plane.
I’m not to sure what happened after that, but apparently Dean and Sam were ok. They paid a visit to Chuck who is the prophet writer guy. He said he saw a vision of Sam’s eyes turning black when he killed Lilleth. Then the not so good Angels paid Dean and Sam a visit. Dean wasn’t very inviting, and used a trick Castiel taught him, to make their visit short.
Next, they were visited by an excited messenger girl who gave them a clue as to where they could find the Arc Angel Michael’s sword. Bobby explained that he apparently used this sword to knock Satan out of Heaven, so they really need to find it.
Unfortunately Bobby is secretly possessed by a demon, tells Sam off,and then an old demon enemy named Meg shows up to start some trouble. It almost ended with Bobby killing Dean, but he was able to fight the demon off.
Meanwhile, the whole time, Lucifer was circling his vessel, prepping him to get him to say yes to his possession proposal in which he eventually succeeds in doing.
Dean and Sam have one more not so good run-in with those not so good Angels, but low and behold, Castiel comes to their rescue and stifles there efforts to get Sam to say yes to release Michael the Arc Angel’s sword because they apparently revealed to Dean that he was the vessel for Michael’s sword.
I thought this episode was a nice little lead-in to the new season. However, I very much look forward to seeing it pick up more in the next, upcoming episodes.
