Madonna, who’s a veteran of the MTV Video Music Awards, showed up for the 2009 version to pay tribute to the late :King of Pop,” Michael Jackson. She certainly did not disappoint,as she gave a very heartfelt speech,wearing a dark black zippered jacket and skirt.

In her speech (full video below), she commented on her and Michael’s dinner date that they had years ago,and stated how he was looking for friend rather than a romance. She talked about how her her kids imitate him,now,and how she was sadden by the fact that she lost touch with him over the years.

She stated how Michael never really had a childhood. She said he was one of the greatest talents the world has ever known. She said he felt his pain when the negative stories came out about him.

She said she watch many clips of him performing, to honor his memory. She concluded the speech by saying, “Yes, yes Michael Jackson was a human being, but dammit, he was a king. Long live the king.”
