E! online reports that the former “One Day at a Time” star, Mackenzie Phillips has admitted to Oprah Winfrey in an interview, that she was raped by her famous father, John Phillips of “Mamas & the Papas”. She talks about how she confronted him before his death back in 2001. She stated to him, “We have to talk about when you raped me.”

She stated that her father replied by saying, “You mean when we made love?” Oprah wrote on her “Twitter” page that the Mackenzie Phillips interview will air tomorrow,and that she thought she’d heard it all,until now. She wrote, “Thought I’d heard it all,beyond shocking! We’re airing it Wednesday.”

Mackenzie wrote a passage in her book about how she woke up from a drug blackout,having sex with her father. She wrote, “On the eve of my wedding, my father showed up, determined to stop it.I had tons of pills, and Dad had tons of everything too. Eventually I passed out on Dad’s bed.

My father was not a man with boundaries. He was full of love, and he was sick with drugs. I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father.”

They report that Mackenzie was 19 years old at the time that it happened. She also wrote, “I was a fragment of a person, and my secret isolated me.”

The interview airs tomorrow, September 23 on Oprah.
