Rio de Janeiro To Host 2016 Olympics, Chicago Eliminated First

This morning an announcement came over the airwaves, stating, that Chicago was the first destination to be eliminated from hosting the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Now, recent reports state that Tokyo and Madrid have been eliminated as well, leaving Rio de Janeiro as the winner. So, Rio de Janeiro will be hosting the 2016 Olympics, and the first games will be held in South America.
The 2016 Olympics will feature 26 sports and 38 disciplines. The 2016 Summer Paralympics will be held in in Rio de Janeiro as well, and will be organized by the same committee.
Chicago, apparently had high hopes of hosting the event in 2016,since it was represented by very high profile people that included : Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama and President Barack Obama.
Their plan focused on clustering the Olympic venues in parkland along the Lake Michigan shores. Unfortunately, not everyone agreed with this plan. Public sentiment dipped to 47 percent, and many were worried that taxpayers might have to end up paying the bill,if the games didn’t reap high enough monetary rewards.
