Moore’s ‘Capitalism: A Love Story’ Was Enlightening & Entertaining

Michael Moore’s new Overture Films documentary, “Capitalism : A Love Story” film made its nationwide release this weekend. I just got done watching it,and like all the other Michael Moore films I’ve watched in the past, I must say that I found a lot of his material enlightening and entertaining.

I’m not an extreme expert on the subject of this film, but I do know enough to see that, at the very least, he makes a good argument for his point of view.

In “Capitalism : A Love Story,” Michael Moore dealt with the world of Capitalism, and how it has effected our economy in a negative way. He made us aware how some airplane pilots in the country make less than $20,000 a year, which was surprising to learn.

He showed how a judge was being paid millions to send kids to a detention center so they could profit from it. Some of the kids would spend almost a year in the center for doing things as little as posting a Myspace insult. It was very eye opening to some of the crazy things that go on in America.

It showed a situation where about 200 plus workers were laid off without receiving any pay for the work they had already completed, and how they protested against “Bank Of America” for not paying them their wages with all the government bailout money they received. They eventually won their argument, and received pay.

It also showed how people get kicked out of their homes and onto the street when they cannot meet their mortgage payments. One family made a protest to get back in their house, with the help of the entire community. The movie also displayed some quirky Michael Moore funny footage to balance out the documentary with some humor.

Overall, I thought the film was very educational, enlightening,as well as entertaining. I know that there are always two sides to every story. It’s an imperfect world,so there always will be,but I do like how Michael Moore presents his side of the story. It’s always entertaining, especially for a documentary.
