Dante Wesley Got Ejected For Very Rough Hit On Clifton Smith
The Carolina Panther’s safety, Dante Wesley got ejected from the game yesterday for making a very rough hit on Clifton Smith. It was late in the first half of the game. Dante Wesley ran real fast and launched himself, shoulders first, into the Buccaneers’ punter, Clifton Smith who had signaled for a fair catch.
The hit occurred with just 10 seconds left in the second quarter, and it brought players from both teams off the sidelines. The teams started pushing and shoving each other, but no penalties were given out for that.
Meanwhile, Clifton Smith laid on the ground for a few minutes, after the very hard hit. He was then helped to his feet and walked off the field. The Panthers were penalized 15 yards for the hit. The Buccaneers reported that Clifton Smith incurred a concussion from the hit,and would miss the remainder of the game.
The Panthers won 28-21 over the Buccaneers.
