Hilary Swank Takes Flight in this “Amelia” movie trailer (below). “Amelia” is a new Fox Searchlight Pictures’ movie,which chronicles the Amelia Earhart story. It also stars: Richard Gere, Ewan McGregor, Christopher Eccleston, and Mia Wasikowska. It’s due to come out this weekend.
In Amelia, Hilary Swank plays Amelia Earhart who was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic,and was thrust into the spotlight as America’s sweetheart,the legendary “goddess of light.” She was known for her larger-than-life charisma.
Even when she got famous,she never changed her belief of flirting with danger,and standing up as her own,outspoken woman. She inspired people everywhere like Eleanor Roosevelt,her husband and promoter George P. Putnam, and pilot Gene Vidal.
Then in the summer of 1937, Amelia would take her last flight,which was an attempt to fly solo,around the world,and it became one of the most talked-about journeys in history.
“Amelia” movie hits theaters this weekend on October 23 .
