Paramount may unleash a “Paranormal Activity”movie sequel on us,according to cinematical.com. They report that the chairman of Paramount studios, Brad Grey spoke with the LA Times,and said they may do a sequel if it makes sense,and that they currently have the rights to the sequel. He stated, “We have the rights on a worldwide basis to do Paranormal 2, and we’re looking to see if that makes some sense.”

Economically,it definitely does make sense. The movie reportedly was filmed on a budget of about $11,000. Heck, even I could’ve funded this film. I wished they had of come and talked to me,lol!!

The movie has made about $60 million,to date,and doesn’t look to slow down anytime soon. The studio spent $300,000 to acquire the rights to the film. They also mostly used internet fan buzz to market the movie,keeping even the marketing costs low.

I guess the only question that’s left,is should there be a sequel to this type of film,as it was shot in documentary style,and not your typical franchise material type of film. I guess anything’s possible,but I do think it would be difficult.
