Rihanna said she was wrong about Chris Brown on “Good Morning America.” Rihanna stated in her interview today on “Good Morning America” that she feels embarrassed for going back to Chris Brown after he beat her, earlier this year.
She also warned other victims of Domestic violence to not make the same mistake. She stated, “It’s completely normal to go back. You start lying to yourself . I’ll say that to any young girl who is going through domestic violence: ‘Don’t react off of love.’”
She went on to stated that she was ashamed that Chris brown was the type of person she fell in love with. She stated, “That’s embarrassing, that’s the type of person I fell in love with. So far in love, so unconditional, that I went back. That’s not what I want to teach people.”
Rihanna then said that she didn’t want to be responsible for another young girl getting killed because of the message she was sending. She stated, “When I realized that my selfish decision for love could result in some young girl getting killed, I could not be easy with that part. I could not be held responsible for telling them, ‘Go back.’”
She also said that she is stronger because of this,and that it can happen to anyone. She stated, “I am strong. This happened to me. I didn’t cause this. I didn’t do it. This can happen to me and it can happen to anybody.”
