New York City is currently hosting a parade in tribute to the New York Yankees for winning the 2009 World Series Championship by beating the Philadelphia Phillies 7-3 last night. Hideki Matsui won MVP for his extraordinary performance.
Alex Rodriguez, Matsui,and the rest of the whole Yankee gang are currently being showered with confetti at Battery Place. They will eventually head north to Chambers Street,and end at City Hall Plaza to give some victory speeches.
After that, Mayor Michael Bloomberg will present the Yankees with keys to the city. There is a huge screen placed near City Hall for the public to watch,if they weren’t able to get tickets to the event.
