Top movie critics gave ‘2012’ movie some pretty mixed reviews. Columbia Pictures’ new epic, world destruction film, “2012” hit theaters today, and reviews from top movie critics equal out to be pretty mixed up for this movie. I guess it’s all about personal taste with this one

A couple of them threw in some Bs a few Cs,along with a couple of dreaded Ds. However, none of them gave it an A.

Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times gave it a B+. He said, “The movie gives you your money’s worth. Is it a masterpiece? No.”

Matt Pais of the Chicago Tribune gave it a C-. He stated, “The technology’s new and improved, but nothing else is.”

Lisa Schwarzbaum from Entertainment Weekly gave it a B rating. She said, “I enjoyed the nerve-racking silliness of this newest, loudest exercise in destruction.”

Christopher Null from Filmcritic.com gave it a B-. He said, “Rest assured this is a popcorn movie, and an incredibly stupid one at that. “

Manohla Dargis of the New York Times gave it a D+. She said, “…Roundly fails to deliver.”

James Berardinelli of Reelviews gave it a D+ as well. He stated, “…So over-the-top ridiculous that it’s impossible not to break out laughing.”

Peter Travers over at Rolling Stone gave it another D,stating, “…Sheer, cynical, mind-numbing, time-wasting, money-draining, soul-sucking stupidity.”

Ty Burr from the Boston Globe gave it a C. He said, “…One huge, overlong, cornball Armageddon – a work of shlock and awe.”

Stephen Farber from The Hollywood Reporter gve it a C-. He stated, “If you rolled every disaster movie into one spectacular package, you would wind up with something close to 2012. “

Well,I personally don’t care what any of them say. I’m going to see it right now,and then I’ll post my review.

fantastic special effects, however most disgusting story line on the film i had ever seen, what ever happens to earth every human being is right to live, to prove some body is rich there has to be poor, same as to prove somebody is brilliant there has to stupid

A little overdone. I mean ok, one near-miss and still survive is believable. 2 near-misses somewhat believable. 3 near-misses in a row…sorta kinda believable if you stretch your imagination. But for the Curtis family to survive a dozen or more near-misses in a row of cracks opening in the ground, balls of molten rock falling on you, buildings crumbling in front of your plane…that’s just ridiculous. The movie lost its sense of believability after the 3rd near miss. Lousy ending too…I mean wup-tee-doo so the Curtis family survives but they and the Chinese worker’s family are the only “average” people to survive…everyone else is a billionaire who bought a seat, or a high ranking politician, and other hand-picked people who can “contribute” to the new world. Who the heck wants to imagine a brand new world populated by mostly elite scum? Good ending would have been for the “truth” to come out sooner, and for the common people of the world to come together and work together and build their own Arks. And just for fun…destroy and vandalize the arks for the rich and elite. hahaha
