Green Day rocked ‘21 Guns’ at the 2009 American Music Awards. Green Day lead singer, Billy Armstrong started off the performance,strumming the opening chords of the song, “21 Guns” on a black acoustic guitar (video below). During the chorus,they delivered a shower of pyrotechnic sparks.

The huge video screen showed glass shattering and bullets whizzing,and a big explosions during different parts of the song.

Towards the end of the song, Billy Armstrong raised his hands high,thrusted his guitar into the air,and shouted, “Los Angeles!”. Then, the crowd began to cheer very loud. The crowd appeared to really love it,stood up,and cheered loudly at the conclusion of their performance.
