Twilight ‘New Moon’ movie bit a huge $142.8 million over the weekend. Summit Entertainment’s number one movie, “Twilight Saga: New Moon” banked in a whopping 142.8 million dollars in its opening weekend,according to Reuters.
This put them in 3rd place for the all time sales record for opening weekend releases. Batman’s “The Dark Night” still leads the pack with $158 million,and “Spider-Man 3″ comes in 2nd place with $151 million.
However, “New Moon” does lead the pack for the midnight screenings record at $26.3 million. I personally thought it had a real good chance to possibly beat out the all-time record,but oh well. I’m sure Summit Entertainment is still real happy with the results,and should announce the “Breaking Dawn” 4th sequel pretty soon. They’re nuts,if they don’t.
“Twilight Saga: New Moon” is in theaters now. “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” hits theaters on June 30,2010.
