Whitney Houston Delivered ‘Strength’ At 2009 American Music Awards

Whitney Houston delivered ’strength’ at the 2009 American Music Awards. Whitney Houston gave a moving 2009 American Music Awards performance last night, singing her new song, “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength” (video below) She used her strong vocals to sing each verse of the song with mad authority.

She used convincing facial expressions to further convey her message to the crowd. She wore a beautiful white dress. As she continued to sing, she invoked even more emotion into the song. Heck,it made me want to get up and yell. It was very moving. You go,girl.

Towards the end of the song, she did a pause, and the crowd started screaming and cheering. Then, she started singing again, and with even more authority, she sung, “I was not built to break.” The crowd gave her a roaring ovation.

Whitney NAILED IT. Her performance stood out because it was simply and classic. One woman and a microphone. Really good.

I was not impressed. After watching her with her husband on that disgusting show of theirs, she proved she is nothing but trash. And I thought she had class….
Why are people making a big deal over her now??
She’s a reformed crack head whore. I think that typo error said the truth. Do you want your daughters using her as an example? No way!

Dear Carolyn, Did you ever hear of addiction and recovery? Do you understand forgiveness? Do you comprehend where she has been and how far she has come? How much easier it would have been for Whitney to just walk away. But no, she chose to face her demons and return to her great gift and strength, music. I salute Whitney for her courage and the tremendous effort she is putting into this return. Why are people excited? Because we have missed her great talent and we all hated the way she just slowly and tragicly disappeared into the abyss of addiction. To see her gradually regain her confidence and strength is nothing short of a miracle. May God continue to bless Whitney and her family. One of Whitney’s new songs talks about lovers and haters. For all the haters in the house, she ain’t singing to you! All the lovers–we are just thrilled she is back!!

Whitney Houston’s career spans nearly 25 years. She is the premier vocalist “The Voice” and she deserves everything that she has. All of the adulation and attention is well-deserved based on her history alone. We all fall down every day, except our mistakes are not broadcast all over the world. I have a profound deeper respect and love for Whitney because she “did not crumble, she did not break”. I believe that Whitney was very close to not being here so to witness her ‘come through’ is truly remarkable. Her performance on the AMA’s was PHENOMENAL. She looked so beautiful and poised. And the confidence is back. Her eyes tell the story.

Carolyn- You have no class at all! Go Whitney!!!!Have you ever heard of adictions and recovery just like Ann Miller wrote? So are you saying all people with adictions should not be forgiven another chance. So are saying that people who have eating disorder like anorexia and bulimia are bad people. It’s people like you that cause others to have adictions like drugs, anorexia, bulimia and alcohol. What’s your adiction. You are probably this 185 pound person who sits in front of the tv all day and whatches soaps. Till your perfect don’t cast any stones.
