Adam Lambert admits he got carried away in his 2009 AMA performance. Access Hollywood, reports that former American Idol contestant, Adam Lambert has admitted to getting carried away in his performance at the 2009 American Music Awards. However, he is not apologizing for it.

He stated, “I admit I did get carried away, but I don’t see anything wrong with it,” he said Wednesday. “I do see how people got offended and that was not my intention. My intention was to interpret the lyrics of my song and have a good time with it.”

ABC got about 1500 complaints on his performance. ABC was mostly upset because they didn’t know he was going to do those moves,as he didn’t rehearse them in practice. He also admitted that he didn’t rehearse some of the more risque elements of his performance, and that in the future,he’ll try and get issues like that cleared up before hand. However, he commented on Janet Jackson groping one of her male dancers, and no one said anything. He stated, “Janet Jackson, crotch grab. I haven’t heard one peep about that.”

He also said that if it were a female doing the same thing,it wouldn’t have been a big deal. He stated, “if it had been a female pop performer doing his moves that were on the stage, I don’t think there would be nearly as much of an outrage.”

Next, he said that he’s not a baby sitter; it’s up to the parents to monitor what children watch. He stated, “I think it’s up to the parents to discern what their child’s watching on television,” he said. “I’m not a baby sitter. I’m a performer.” He also said if he got a chance to perform it again,he would sing it a little bit better.

Good job Adam! I also agree I don’t think you did anything wrong or different from other entertainers.

Why should he apologize? It would be saying he’s sorry for being gay. That wouldn’t happen nor should it. His voice just was not his best. What about that fall? That would shake any performer. No one seems to comment. The Out mag was giving him such a hard time in the days before the AMAs It just doesn’t seem he is gay enough for the old boys. Now it seems he too gay for the complainers.
