Top critics give ‘Old Dog’ movie very bad reviews. The top movie critics in the business weren’t to kind with Walt Disney Pictures new comedy movie, “Old Dog.” It stars: John Travolta, Robin Williams, Kelly Preston, Seth Green, Ella Bleu Travolta, Lori Loughlin, and Matt Dillon. It hit theaters today. The critics gave it mostly Fs and Ds,with a couple of Cs.

Ty Burr of the Boston Globe gave it a D-. He said, “A pitiful family comedy.” Roger Ebert from the Chicago Sun Times gave it a D. He stated, “…stupefying dimwitted.”

Matt Pais over at the Chicago Tribune gave it an F. He said, “A great opportunity to gather family members you clearly think are stupid.”

Lisa Schwarzbaum from Entertainment Weekly gave it another F rating,stating, “Robin Williams’ dignity flushing further down the pipes.”

Kirk Honeycutt at Hollywood Reporter rated it an F also. He stated, “Insipid, predictable, broad comedy mixed with Disney Family Values makes for one exasperating sit.”

Kyle Smith from the New York Post gave it a D rating. He said, “Old Dogs does to the screen what old dogs do to the carpet. It’s unfortunate that only the latter can be taken out and shot.”

Stephen Holden from the New York Times gave it an F. He said, “imbecilic, mean-spirited farce.”

James Berardinelli from Reelviews gave it a D-. He stated, ” there are some experiences no one should be subjected to even in the name of science. It may be that forced viewing of this film has been outlawed by the Geneva Convention.”

Mick Lasalle of the San Francisco Chronicle gave it a C. He said, “this is the weird thing, Old Dogs is not that bad.”

Finally, Claudia Puig from USA Today gave it a C-. She stated, “The story has been done to death: Die-hard bachelor forced to take on adorable children. Silly antics ensue, followed by a conclusion bathed in sentimentality.”
