Bryant Gumbel Told Kelly Ripa He Had Lung Cancer
Bryant Gumbel told Kelly Ripa he had lung cancer. According to the Los Angeles Times,former “Today” show host and current HBO “Real Sports” host, Bryant Gumbel said that he’s currently recovering from lung cancer surgery and treatment. He told Kelly Ripa about his condition in private,backstage while he was filling in for Regis Philbin on the “Live With Regis and Kelly” show yesterday.
He said that a malignant tumor and part of his lung were removed about two months ago. Bryant Gumbel said that he preferred to keep his condition private and only told Ripa backstage, so that he could explain why he couldn’t dance with her during a segment on the show.
He said that he’s going to be meeting with his surgeon and oncologist next week and hopes to be cleared to play golf soon.
