Yankees Trade Outfielder Melky Cabrera For Pitcher Javier Vazquez
Yankees trade outfielder Melky Cabrera for pitcher Javier Vazquez. According to Bloomberg.com, the New York Yankees have traded outfielder, Melky Cabrera for the right-handed starting pitcher, Javier Vazquez who played for the Atlanta Braves. The trade is part of a five-player trade.
Relief pitcher, Boone Logan also got traded to the Yankees. Mike Dunn and minor-league pitcher, Arodys Vizcaino got traded to the Braves. The Yankees also said in a news release that they also sent an undisclosed amount of cash to the Braves.
Javier Vazquez pitched for the Yankees once before, in 2004. He will now rejoin them in their rotation,which includes CC Sabathia,A.J. Burnett,and Andy Pettitte. Phil Hughes and Joba Chamberlain may also be used as starters out of the bullpen.
