Howard Stern’s Artie Lange attempted suicide by stabbing himself. According to CBS news, Artie Lange of the Howard Stern show attempted suicide by stabbing himself nine times. They say Artie’s publicist confirmed that he was hospitalized,and the New York Posts’ page 6 reported that surgeons were able to save him despite all the heavy bleeding.

Artie’s mother called the police on Saturday morning after she entered his apartment,which is located in Hoboken,New Jersey. She then found Artie in a pile of blood. A source for the New York post stated, “Lange sustained six ‘hesitation wounds’ and three deep plunges.”

Artie Lange is 42 years old,and has been absent from the Howard Stern show for about a month now. Earlier this week, Howard said that Artie isn’t leaving the show,calling him “a tremendous contributor.” Recently in September, a New Jersey judge revoked Artie’s driving privileges for seven months after he admitted he was under the influence of prescribed sleeping pills in a minor traffic accident.
