Conan O’Brien debates NBC over trash talk clause length & pay. According to TMZ, Conan O’Brien is currently in debate with NBC as to how long he is prohibited from trash talking them. They say there’s currently a hang-up in the Conan O’Brien/NBC severance deal, and it’s over the clause that prevents Conan from talking trash about them. Their lawyers say that both sides are arguing over how long Conan is prohibited from saying bad things about NBC.

Conan is also complaining about the amount of severance pay his staff is going to receive. They say someone was not included in the $7.5 million dollars that his staff is supposed to get. Jeff Ross who is the Executive Producer of the “Tonight Show” is supposed to get about $4.5 million dollars in severance pay, bringing the total staff severance pay to $12 million. However, now Conan’s lawyers want $600,000 added to the staff’s severance pay,but NBC is not going for it. NBC says that it’s such a small amount that Conan is really just posturing to make himself look good. Also NBC thinks they can make $40 million dollars in profit off Jay Leno in his first year back, and that they would lose about $5 million dollars if they kept Conan O’Brien.
