American Idol contestant butchers ‘Cult Of Personality’ song in Los Angeles. Fox’s hit show, “American Idol” returned to TV last night with the Los Angeles, California auditions,which featured celebrity guest judges Avril Lavigne and Katy Perry. In this particular performance (below), a contestant by the name of AJ Mendoza butchered the hell out of Living Colour’s “Cult Of Personality” song.

Avril Lavigne was the guest judge for this segment. She came on in the first segment or 30 minutes of the show. Then they showed Katy Perry for the last 30 minutes. Aj said he had shopped his voice demo to Adam Lambert and that he gave him great compliments,but I really,really,doubt that,not if he was singing “Cult Of Personality.” I hope someone interviews Adam Lambert about what this guy said,and gets the real 411 on that. Anyways, yeah, he totally butchered the song and cute little Avril Lavigne was laughing her ass off. I loved it.
