Pennsylvania Goes Into ‘State Of Emergency’ Due To Snow Storm
Pennsylvania goes into “State Of Emergency” due to snow storm. According to multiple news sources, Governor Ed Rendell has declared a “State of Emergency” for Pennsylvania, and Delaware has followed suit due to a blizzard that has produced a Nor’easter which has wiped them out,or blanketed most of the state. Thousands of people have lost power in both of the states. The disaster emergency was declared at about 6:30am this morning. 60,000 people in Allegheny County are without power.
Fallen trees and downed electric lines are wreaking havoc on the electric service in the region. Also,Ohio and Maryland are now under a disaster snow watch. Most of the Federal Government offices were closed yesterday. Governor Ed Rendell has directed a team of people to take necessary steps to ensure all critical resources and personnel are available. The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs have deployed Pennsylvania National Guard troops to assist State Police to help patrol all incident reports.
