CW gives Vampire Diaries & Supernatural additional seasons. According to Michael Ausiello over at Entertainment Weekly , the CW has renewed the hit,breakout show, “Vampire Diaries,” and long-time running “Supernatural” for additional seasons. Michael says that the CW has also renewed Gossip Girl ,90210,and America’s Next Top Model for additional seasons.

However, the fate of Smallville, One Tree Hill, Life Unexpected,and Melrose Place are still up in the air as there’s no news of their renewals yet. There are some budgetary issues that do need to be resolved with those shows at this time,though,but they do have a good chance of being renewed. Dawn Ostroff who is the president of the CW said Smallville looks strong right now,and they’re deciding on whether they’ll renew it. She stated, “I’m really pleased with the show. Creatively, I think they’ve done a great job. And the ratings are strong on Friday night. I have to commend the producers. It’s not easy in season 9 to keep a show fresh. And you know what I think? The fans have really liked the show this season. I don’t know which way we’ll go, but if you would’ve asked me earlier whether it would end this season I would’ve said, ‘Oh, probably.’ But I can’t say that now.”
